HD Wallpapers & 4K Backgrounds: Privacy Policy

HD Wallpapers & 4K Backgrounds is made by Ecom Swift LLC. The app shows featured photos from Wikimedia Commons and lets you set them as your wallpaper or save them to your phone. You don't need an account, and we don't run any server of our own: we don't receive, collect or sell your personal data.

Photos from Wikimedia Commons

To show wallpapers, the app connects directly from your device to Wikimedia Commons (commons.wikimedia.org, upload.wikimedia.org and thumb.wikimedia.org), which is run by the Wikimedia Foundation. These requests include the collection or search words you choose and identify the app by name. Like any website you visit, Wikimedia can see your IP address and basic technical details of the request (such as the app's user-agent). Wikimedia's handling of that information is described in its privacy policy: foundation.wikimedia.org/wiki/Policy:Privacy_policy. We don't receive or store these requests. Each photo belongs to its author and is shown with its author and license.

What the app does on your device

• Setting a wallpaper: the photo is cropped on your device exactly as shown in the preview and handed to Android's wallpaper service for your home screen, lock screen or both.
• Downloads: when you choose Download, the photo is saved to Pictures/HD Wallpapers on your device. On Android 9 and older, Android asks for storage permission the first time, only for this purpose.
• Favorites, settings and history: your favorites, theme choice, auto-changer settings and the list of photos you've used (for their credits) are stored only on your device. Thumbnails and previews are cached on your device to load faster and to show favorites offline; you can clear this cache in Settings.
• Auto-changer (Premium): if you turn it on, Android's WorkManager runs a background task on your device at the interval you pick. It downloads a photo from Wikimedia Commons (or uses one of your favorites) and sets it as your wallpaper. It can be set to use Wi-Fi only, and it re-arms itself after your phone restarts. You can turn it off anytime.

What we do NOT do

• We do not operate servers that collect your data, and we do not see your favorites, downloads or wallpapers.
• We do not sell your data.
• We do not require an account or login.

Advertising

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use your device's advertising identifier and similar device information to serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud; this data is sent to Google encrypted in transit. In regions where consent is required, you are asked for consent through Google's User Messaging Platform before personalized ads are shown. Premium turns off ads and stops ad requests. Purchases

HD Wallpapers Premium is a subscription handled by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment details. You can cancel anytime in Google Play.

Deleting your data

Everything the app stores is on your device. You can remove favorites at any time, clear the image cache and history in the app, delete downloaded photos from your gallery, and uninstalling the app removes the rest.

Children

The app is a general audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
